2020 has been a time of societal awareness for everyone. Both the COVID 19 pandemic virus and the social outrage of the death of George Floyd and Black Lives Matter have evoked an unprecedented and historic global movement. It has been a wakeup call to take action as ALLYS to help others fight racism and bias and engage with others in the Black Lives Matter Movement. For Asians, it has also been the battle against unwarranted xenophobia which has resurfaced in our Asian Communities. This esteemed panel will discuss how they have addressed the harsh issues of racism, bias, and xenophobia in their capacities as Government Officials; Bar Association Leaders; and Diversity and Inclusion Specialists. They will talk about the current state of the Black Lives Movement and specific cases of racism, bias, and xenophobia in our communities. They will address what they are doing to resolve the social injustices. We will learn what we must do to make our Communities more fair, just and equitable and how to respect one another and honor the principals of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
