Rahul Agarwal is the Executive Assistant United States Attorney at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey. He previously served as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division, overseeing the Office’s Economic Crimes, Cybercrimes, and National Security Units. Prior to that role, Rahul prosecuted public corruption cases in the Special Prosecutions Division. Rahul also serves as the Office’s Criminal Civil Rights Coordinator. Rahul received his undergraduate degree in Business Economics and International Relations from Brown University in 2001 and his law degree from Columbia University in 2006. Between undergrad and law school, he worked as a business analyst at McKinsey & Company. Following law school, Rahul worked at O’Melveny & Myers LLP, in Washington D.C. He then clerked for the Honorable Esther Salas, then-U.S. Magistrate Judge (now a District Judge), and the Honorable Jose L. Linares, U.S. District Judge. Following his clerkships, he worked as an associate at Friedman Kaplan Seiler & Adelman LLP. Rahul previously served as the President of the South Asian Bar Association of New York and as the Vice-President of Community Outreach for the South Asian Bar Association of North America. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Sonia & Celina Sotomayor Judicial Internship Program.
